Music

I've started to discover and fall in love with blues music. My most favorite artists include... Bob Dylan, John Lee Hooker, The White Stripes, The Rolling Stones, The Black Keys, The Greenhornes, Holly Golightly, Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen, The Velvet Underground, Nico, The Stone Roses, Joy Division, Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey, Primal Scream, Radiohead, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Oasis, The Verve, Spiritualized etc.

Films

Edward Scissorhands, Pierrot Le Fou, The Virgin Suicides, Bonnie & Clyde, Dr. Strangelove, The Wizard of Oz, Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amélie Poulin, The French Connection, Belle de Jour, Alphaville, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bonjour Tristesse, The Godfather, old James Bond movies. I love quirky or satire movies, well done police dramas, film noir, french new wave and cheesy romantic comedies starring Hugh Grant.

Hello Stella thank you for your reply!
Did you enjoy these days? Hope so!
My gifts were so "symbolic and conceptual" because I had not so much money too:).
What do you do for living? I hope your exams were ok!
I know what you mean, it's so strange thinking about how much different lives exist in the world but it's so amazing speaking about it! A large part of the people wake up in the morning, have breakfast, run at work or school and dedicate themselves to something that makes them happy...maybe this is pretty restricted but that's the way of the world, isn't it?
Every mornings every single person wakes up in its own reality...and we have a computer to communicate with the world...strange thing, but it's a way of "feeling the others"...do you know what I mean?
And, yeah, I like it:)

Wow, you live in the cold cold Canada! And where exactly? I've read that in Canada there is a high standard of living, more than in US! I've seen some wonderful pics of Canada! It would be a great place to visit!
So, when will you come to Italy:)?
There are lots of places to visit:), but it's not a prefect country, or better still Italy is so far to perfection! Yeah, I can't really say that italian people enjoy life...they are satisfied with the banal and superficial aspect of things and they are ready to oppress you for getting "success". Fortunately a large part of people are ok, but I think that assholes are everywhere!

So take care you too and speak soon!

Such lovely winter themes in your avatars lately Stella :-)

My mom is a huge Dylan fan, too. She has seen him in concert a few times.

How did that last paper go?

All my holiday stuff is done, so I'm looking forward to catching up on some personal projects as well as some quality quiet time.

What movies are you planning on checking out?

Happy candy cane season!!

Hope you have a cool xmas, and if i remember you had a bit of a tough time this year, so here's to a way better 2009.

Marianne is a heroine of mine. And of course she was such a beautiful woman before life left its mark upon her face.Actually I think those marks make her a different kind of beautiful-one can see that she has lived and lived fully!Glad you like her too.

And its kind of you to leave such a nice comment.
Lets be friends.
Then we can marvel over the genius of Buckley and The Spaceman together :)

Good morning sweet strawberry!!!
Well, Italy has many wonderful places to visit but politically it's a "big rollin' shit"...so is not so beautiful live here!!
I live in the cold cold north-west of the country (1 hour by car to Milan) and near the city where I live there's a place that is famous for producing wine...and that wine is very very good!!! I remember how many times I got drunk :)...hahahahaha!!!!Awesome!

Sometimes I think: am I the only italian girl on this forum:)? Hope not:)
I like so much speeking with foreigners, knowing realities which are different from mine!

So what about you? Where do you live? How are things in your world?
Enjoy this day!
Stay young!
