Hi Yvonne! Hope you're well :-) Saw your bandpics on MySpace, of the gig. You play that Fender - looks really cool - even though you look rather stressed in that pic (were you nervous?) ;-)
I'll write soon, I'm just really busy this week. Hope I'll have some time at the weekend - okay, I know I will! See you then, take care
Doro
I hope you got my mail - sent it a couple of days ago.
I felt really bad, because I didn't know how I could tell you what happened and then things were all upside down and I needed a lot of time for myself. It was good. Now I see a lot of things in a different light and have an idea in which direction I want to turn.
Are you alright? Tell me what you've been up to while I was hiding ;-)
I might get a kitten today. I tell you about it later :-)
Hey, go to sleep! ;-) I'll send a reply to your last pm later. Had difficulties typing the last days, but now it's all getting a bit better. I wish you a good night :-)
Talked to my husband about you thinking about getting a new bass and that you like Robert's, and Tilo (my husband) said you should try the Epiphone Jack Casady signature bass, which must be quite good (that's what he said, I don't know that much about basses). If you see it somewhere, he said, the Allen Woody Rumblekat could also be nice for your music. I mentioned you like Les Pauls...I looked at the pics and think they do look quite nice. ;-)
I'm a crap guitar player. My dad taught me some chords when I was a kid and I soon started writing songs, but that's about it. I was never ambitious and always used my acoustic guitar. It's about 20 years old now. Still I like to jam a bit. We don't have a band but we'd like to play. We're still looking for a drummer and a rehearsal room.
I used to play piano and saxophone and I was pretty good, good enough for studying it, but I gave it up. I haven't really touched the piano since a thumb operation years ago. I'm afraid I can't play anymore, I'm sure I can't play anymore. It's been ages...
I know what it's like to have no time. I'm a teacher and I work quite a lot. I have no kids, not sure if I can ever have some. You're lucky you have a husband who is so much into music and tries to make it possible for you to get back into it. You need a good hobby, even with a baby. And you should go for a new bass if you feel like it. 9 years is a long time, you must be pretty good. And it's a new start in a way, so why not trying out something new? Just if you feel it's right, of course. If you keep your eyes open you might even find a bass like Rob's somewhere...or should I say that instrument finds you ;-)
You're welcome ;-) We have some nice music discussions every now and then on here, on "playing" music, it's nice to have some new opinions!
My husband bought an Aerodyne not long ago and is happy with it. It has some strange pick-up combination, don't ask me about it, something between Jazz and Precision and it took him ages to find what he was looking for. He's mad about it and every second I don't look he has a bass in his hand.
I don't know that much about basses (well, more than I ever wanted, but still, I don't play bass, you know). But I've seen the Danelectroes, he was thinking about getting one, too. But we're not rich!
I'm not that mad about it. I love my old acoustic guitar and my cheap Epiphone semi-acoustic guitar, but my dream is a vintage Les Paul. One day maybe...

So someone who knows what it's like to be married to someone who suffers from GAS. It's hell, isn't it? ;-)
Do you play music together?
