About dharma69

Brooklyn, New Yorker by birth, but home is really between my ears and the sound of it is immense. The only black chick in the room with the really short hair having a good time...that'll be me. Say hello. I dare you. My friends are spread out across the country and the world and I like that as we source one another for thoughts, temperature, experience. Music tends to be the first thing that we all have in common...all else follows naturally as it should. Music and chocolate are love and I indulge in them both as much as possible. Concerts and Hershey/Godiva/Ghirardelli galore!

U2 and more U2! Pearl Jam and more Pearl Jam! Bloc Party, Prince, Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Franz Ferdinand, Nico Vega, Kenny Loggins, The Black Crowes, Interpol, The Trade, stellastarr*, Chris Cornell, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, Mary J. Nothing better than "The Godfather". "The Crow"; "In The Heat of The Night"; "West Side Story"; "All About Eve"; All things Bette Davis...all things Bette Davis. http://www.youtube.com/user/dharma69

Books

From the hilarity of "Russia, Anyone?", to the reality of "The End of Poverty: Economic Possibilities For Our Time", to the integrity of "Freakanomics". And then there's the romance novel or two. Or 48.

I look forward to hearing about Jonny Lang - I loved all his early stuff and he was still great the last time I saw him in concert at the Blues Festival in St. Pete a couple years ago.

Hi! Thought I'd drop you a line. Collette and I were at the El Rey on halloween to see the Black Angels (and Collette wanted to see Roky, too). We were on the far right of the stage, in front. I saw you mid-way through the show in the middle...I wanted to say hi afterwards, but I didn't see where you went. Can you believe it, I finally hear Deer-Ree-Shee?!! I was so happy. What did you think of the show?

And it's worth every penny!

Besides logs listing the shows I've attended, I have logs for who I went to shows with as well as how much each show cost.

It's so great to look them over to reminisce or refer back to. If I'm unsure about having seen an artist or how many times, I just look it up.

I still hand write all the info. I've thought about creating spreadsheets on my pc, but it would take me days and days and days to input all that info. So, for now I'll stick with my pad and pencil.

What's your next gig? I'm going to see Au Revoir Simone this Saturday. Should be fun.

Take care!

Hello fellow chocolate lover!

You sure do attend plenty of gigs! You may have me beat. Do you keep track of how many? I've attended 33 so far this year - 633 to date. It's the best possible hobby!

Have a good one!

Hello there!!
Well, thank you for passing by and for accepting me as a friend!
Hopefully we'll chat soon!
Oh and is your name from the book The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac? It just so happens to be one of my favorites.

Take Care

They're on tour with the Duke Spirit?! What a dream combination. And I firmly have my diary reminder set for album purchase on 28 October. Hehe, thanks for the heads up. Oh and funnily enough, the last time I nearly screamed in pain due to excessive high heeled dancing was at the Duke Spirit gig a few weeks ago. :)

You lucky girl. Would LOVE to see the Eagles of Death Metal live. They have a new album out?
