The Mountain Goats are a pretty cool folk/pop group. Try to get the album "We Shall All be Healed" to get a taste of their style.

Hey, actually you have really good taste, it's just that there's a lot of trademark NME bands on your personal list:

[Such as: strokes, kings of leon, white stripes, hot hot heat, we are scientists, razorlight, i am kloot, bloc party, franz ferdinand, libertines, hives, vines, jet, kaiser chiefs, futureheads, maximo park, the coral, 22-20's, kasabian]

(some are good, some are bad)...

But the fact is there's a lot of fluffy, gimmicky bands that aren't actually great bands. It's like back in the "britpop" days for every one "Oasis", you would have 30 "Shed Seven's". I think it's important to remember, quality over quantity.

I'm not saying this it in a mean way, i think 90% of the things you're interested in are great (and that's a big compliment). You just have a minor "nme infection of the ear". Nothing that can't be treated... ;)

Thanks. Out of curiousity, which bands are you including in your "fluff?"
